Lena Kowalczyk and Marek Nowak opened Open Neighbor after years of freelance work for small Warsaw operators who needed seating plans and finish boards — not full restaurant consultancies. The gap was always the same: pretty collages that ignored coat hooks, radiator runs, and the width of a Praga staircase delivery. The practice settled at ul. Nowy Świat 22 so clients can review timber and textile between meetings in Śródmieście. Most commissions still begin with a walk-through of the empty unit.
Where we return
Repeat work sits along Nowy Świat and nearby side streets, around Powiśle’s café stretch, and across Praga-Północ where brick warehouses become dining rooms. Each district asks for a different balance of daylight, street noise, and furniture durability. We keep a short Warsaw supplier list so lead times stay honest when a fit-out calendar is tight.
